Since tacos are the iconic staple of the American south, the restaurant serves two different types – the baked corn chicken taco, with a crunchy shell made of whole corn kernel; and the soft - shell chicken taco, which features a spicy pan - grilled chicken wedged into a soft taco with slices of spicy jalapeno, topped with a creamy cheese sauce.

You can’t go wrong with either choice as they are both bursting with flavour.

Considered a comfort food by many, Captain Shrimp’s baked mac and cheese is outrageously cheesy and extremely creamy. It’s topped with breadcrumbs, which gives it a crunch you will absolutely love.

Then there’s the Pasta Meatball – thick tomato sauce coating every juicy ball of meat and strand of spaghetti.

Weight watchers will find themselves drawn to the Texas ham salad, a low - calorie but delicious dish featuring fresh greens topped with bits and pieces of savoury chicken.

Captain Shrimp is also offering two platters as part of its Christmas menu. The “Jingle Bell Rocks! ” platter is for six people and is priced at RM350, while the “Jingle All the Way! ” platter, for 12, costs RM588.

The platters include seafood and quesadillas which, like tacos, are a mainstay of Mexican cuisine.

There are large, crispy fried shrimp and fried calamari, featuring springy squid with a thick and crunchy coating.

The chicken quesadilla comprises flavourful fajita - style chicken accompanied by generous fillings of capsicum and spicy peppers.

For lovers of all things cheese, the dual - cheese quesadilla is a dream come true: melted cheese paired with crunchy green capsicum and a dash of ground black pepper.
