SELSMA (Society of Endoscopic Laparoscopic of Surgery Malaysia), the brainchild of a group of esteemed surgeons was formed in the year 2012, with a common interest and goal to bring together renowned surgeons from all around the world and Malaysia specifically. With a focus on Endoscopic-Laparoscopic techniques like laparoscopic surgery for hernia, SELSMA functions as a platform for surgeons with a special interest in this field to congregate their ideas, learn new medical procedures, and educate others. So far, SELSMA has successfully conducted 3 congresses with an array of various surgeons from across the globe as speakers.

SELSMA is also part of a bigger society, ELSA or also known as the Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia. SELSMA takes pride in its members who are the crème de la crème from various surgical subspecialties. Besides being a platform for surgeons to come together, SELSMA also welcomes Medical officers, Medical students, and Allied health to actively participate in their host of activities.
